MR. ALI RIDHA AL HASHIMI

Director General, CVRL

Mr. Ali Ridha Al Hashimi's passion for medical science was a perfect fit for establishing CVRL in 1985, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

A student of the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in the UK, Mr. Ali graduated from the Medical School with a degree in clinical biochemistry. The University is world renowned and teaches students to integrate medical disciplines, forming a holistic view of treating and curing diseases. Key areas of focus at the school are ageing, stem cells and cell biology

In addition to his role at CVRL , Mr. Ali is also the Director of Pathology Services, Dubai Health Authority (DH A); Director-General of Dubai Herbal & Treatment Centre (DHTC ), opened in 2003; and Steering Committee Member of Dubai Equine Hospital (DEH ).

His involvement in establishing CVRL has seen the institute evolve into a highly reputable organisation, focused on both routine diagnosis and research.

From its auspicious start in 1985 with two staff members, CVRL now has over 100 employees, including highly qualified senior scientists who are at the forefront in their specialised field.
