Throughout the history of the United Arab Emirates, I have always supported veterinary research and diagnostic work. It was therefore, more than 25 years ago, that I initiated the Central Veterinary Research Laboratory as a sign to the local, regional and international veterinary community to enhance and improve the veterinary services and research in the Middle East.

I am very proud that CVRL has, under the leadership of Mr. Ali Ridha Al Hashimi and Priv.-Doz. Dr. habil. Ulrich Wernery, grown and been accepted as a regional and international institution of excellence. CVRL understands its responsibility to help in both diagnostic and research areas.
